Prospect Park is an impressively large local amenity on the west side of Reading in Berkshire. The Liebenrood family built the mansion house on the top of the hill in the centre of the site in 1797 and subsequent inheritors over the years (as they had no children) had to change their name to Liebenrood as a condition of the inheritance. Doubtless this is the reason for the naming of the road that runs down the East side of the park and may well have been a condition of the sale of the park to Reading Borough Council in 1902. The mansion is Grade II listed and currently is used as a restaurant. It is the white building just visible through the trees in this aerial view of Prospect Park taken on 22nd May 2010.
