In these aerial photographs of Stratton Park, East Stratton Hampshire you can see the doric columned portico and stuccoed main block. This is the last remaining part of the original house designed by George Dance the younger and built in 1803. The grounds laid out at the same time contain a mixture of fine specimen trees which remain to the present day. In 1963 the original house was demolished by the owner John Baring and a modernist house by Stephen Gardiner and Christopher Knight was built but with no logical relationship to the portico. This is a regular site when our balloons fly from Micheldever on a westerly wind. Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratton_Park for more information and history.
